Performed using solid state silicon detectors. Two types of analyses are available:

Option 1: All isotopes are counted using a single source.

Option 2: Extensive radiochemistry is used to isolate the alpha emitters and remove chemical interferences. In addition, isotopes separation techniques are employed to produce sources free of spectral overlap. Yields are determined with the use of added tracers.

Detection limits listed below refer to option 2. In general, detection limits for option 1 will be an order of magnitude higher.
